Digiskills is an initiative from Digirank that aims to deliver digital skills alongside techniques for managing life and work to the next generation of digital professionals in Bristol.

Supporting professional wellness and mental health is a key part of the initiative.

At Digirank, we are immensely proud of our team and the working environment we have created. The atmosphere is one of openness, skill-sharing and inclusion. This helps us be productive and achieve as a business. Digiskills is an extension of this and an opportunity to share our knowledge with the city we love, inspiring future generations to progress in digital.

In its pilot year (2017), Digiskills saw Digirank offer placements for work experience students as well as deliver digital training at a local Bristol school.

We welcomed Sophia, a second year student at the University of the West of England, who was looking to develop digital marketing skills and experience life at an agency. We also welcomed Hollie, a sixth form student from John Cabot School, looking for experience in an agency environment.

As part of Digiskills in 2017, we also took part in BIMA’s annual Digital Day initiative. The day paired industry professionals with secondary schools around the country so that they could share their digital knowledge and raise awareness of digital careers.

Tom and Vicky from Digirank partnered with John Cabot Academy in Bristol to work with students training studying for a Creative & Media Diploma. The day was highly interactive with plenty of team work, brainstorming sessions, and ended with a Dragon’s Den-style pitch from the students.

Digiskills is also an important part of Digirank’s internal ethos. With MoveGB membership, flexible working hours and early finishes on Fridays to make the most of the weekend, we prioritise a healthy and productive working environment.

The overwhelming feedback from students, education partners, clients and our team, was that we should do more of this in 2018. So, on 1st January 2018, Digiskills was formally launched.
